When is it better to choose long-term rental instead of buying a car?

Are you staying in Spain for more than three months? And not just settling somewhere in Madrid or Barcelona, but staying on the Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca? You will definitely need a car — you probably understand that without us telling you. In this article, we will tell you the best way to get one.

There are several options: you can buy, lease, rent by the day, or choose a monthly or long-term rental. Or you can use public transport.

For a period of 3 months or more, we recommend choosing a long-term car rental. This is the most cost-effective option compared to short-term rentals. The car is always at your disposal — you don't need to book a new one every time you want to go somewhere.

Buying a used car is a lottery (unless, of course, you are talking about SOLO Car Sales - we always provide a transparent car history and a minimum one-year warranty after purchase). And not everyone has the money or an approved loan to buy a car right away. But you can rent a comfort-class car for a reasonable price.

Taxis and public transport are only an option if you rarely need to go anywhere — but believe us, on the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca, not going anywhere every weekend is a crime!

Oh, and leasing. This is a good solution if you plan to stay in Spain! But again, choosing a used car will be a difficult task. We would advise you to first take a car on a long-term lease and then buy it from SOLO Car Sales at a discount.
